Refund Policy
A. Retention of tuition and fees collected in advance by the Institute for a student who does not commence class does not exceed $100.
B. If a student cancels enrollment and requests a refund in writing within three
(3) business days of the date the enrollment contract was signed, all monies collected
by the Institute shall be refunded. The cancellation date will be determined by
the postmark on the written notification or by the date when the notification
was given to the director in person. This policy applies regardless of whether
or not the student has actually started training.
C. For students who cancel enrollment more than three (3) business days after
signing their enrollment contract but prior to starting classes, all monies paid
to the Institute shall be refunded less the registration fee.
D. Enrollment time for the purpose of calculating refunds is defined as the time elapsed between the actual starting date and the student’s last day of physical attendance. Refunds, when due, are made without requiring a request from the student and shall be refunded within 30 days from formal Institute termination. Formal Institute termination shall occur no more than 30 days from the last day of physical attendance or in the case of a Leave of Absence, from the documented date of return.
E. For students who enroll in courses and start classes, the following schedule
of tuition adjustment is authorized:

During the first week Internship | 10% plus Fees, Books, Kit |
During the next 3 weeks Internship | 25% plus Fees, Books, Kit |
After 4 weeks to 25% Internship | 45% plus Fees, Books, Kit |
More than 25% to 50% Internship | 70% plus Fees, Books, Kit |
More than 50% Internship | 100% plus Fees, Books, Kit |
F. In case of illness, disabling accident, death
in the immediate family or other circumstances beyond the student's control, the
Culinary Institute of New Orleans may agree to a settlement that is reasonable
and fair to both the student and the Institute.
G. If a student who received a scholarship or financial aid is due a refund,the
monies shall be refunded to the appropriate scholarship or financial
aid program(s) first. Students must comply with all program requirements.
